1.5 Billion iPhone Apps Downloaded!

When he returned to work last month, Steve Jobs said simply that “the iPhone is winning” after Apple’s new 3GS model sold more than one million units in its first weekend.
Today, just over a year since the App Store went live, Apple is out with a new milestone number: 1.5 billion applications downloaded. According to the company, there are now more than 65,000 applications available and 100,000 developers. Additionally, they are now serving a market of more than 40 million devices (iPhones and the iPod Touch).
Competition has allot to do now to catch up or even come close, that’s the advantages of coming with a new idea and being followed. You will always be ahead this way.

Push Gmail Comes To The iPhone — Through An App

You’d think on a phone that can do as many cool things as the iPhone, push email through one of the world’s most popular email services, Gmail, would be one of them. But for some reason, Google and Apple haven’t turned on the functionality for Gmail accounts on the iPhone. Sure, you can get push email through MobileMe, Yahoo Mail or Exchange, but basic Gmail users are basically out of luck. Until now, maybe.
Let me be clear, I’m still not certain that this app will even be approved for the App Store. But if it is, it’s pretty awesome.
I didn’t even know iPhone didn’t support gmail, and as I regular gmail user I’m glad that they created this app. I’m planning to get an iphone and by the time I get 1 I’m hoping it has everything I need.
