Freddie Roach On Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather (Video)

Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight tentatively scheduled for March is cancelled

At the end of the day Pacquiao should have nothing to fear if he is clean, he started the interview with a bullshit response to why he shouldn’t be drug test which only made it clearer that Pacquiao has something to hide. Mayweather have been choosing his fights wisely but there is nothing wrong with a defense asking for a random drug test. This would have been a historic fight if it went down and I hope it can be rescheduled.

Rick Ross seems like someone who wants attention and Mayweather seems to be someone who isn’t entertaining it.

Floyd Mayweather Loses $300K per Round, Excess Weight Fine

LAS VEGAS — Floyd Mayweather Jr. weighed in at 146 pounds on Friday afternoon, two pounds heavier than the weight stipulated in the contract for his comeback fight against lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The excess weight will cost Mayweather $300,000 per pound, meaning Marquez will get an additional $600,000 on top of his $3.2 million guarantee, a source told ESPN.com. Mayweather’s minimum guarantee is $10 million, a figure likely to dramatically increase after the pay-per-view receipts are counted.

Marquez, who has never fought heavier than 135 pounds, comfortably made 142 pounds, two less than the 144-pound contract weight.

At Mayweather’s request, nobody would speak publicly about the contract weight throughout the promotion that kicked off in early May and continued into the fall when the fight was postponed from July 18 because of a Mayweather rib injury.

However, several sources with direct knowledge of the contract told ESPN.com all along that the contract maximum weight was 144 pounds, three less than the 147-pound welterweight maximum.

Floyd gets 10 million guarantee plus the additional cash from pay-per-view! that 600k fine looks like chump change compared to the figures he’s making and he won the fight on top of that. Marquez was bought into the spotlight because of this fight and still is being payed!

Floyd Mayweather Defeats Juan Manuel Marquez!

Here is a full fight walk through found over @ Newsday.com

OK. The John-Juarez rematch is about to start. The WBA featherweight title is at stake. We’ll back afterwards. Chris John retains the title in a pretty good fight. Main event next.

Last minute picks: I stay the same, Mayweather by decision. Richie from Levittown says Mayweather, TKO 10th round.

11:36: National Anthems are over.

11:38: Marquez on his way to the ring.

11:42: Now comes Floyd. They are saying a WWE wrestler, Triple H, is escorting him to the ring.

11:47: Michael Buffer says, Let’s Get Ready Rumble.

Round One: Floyd looks sharper and faster. But remember, Marquez is a slow starter. Floyd jabbing well. Marquez lands a couple of hooks, but nothing significant. “Sneak left hook” says Richie from Levittown. Overall, Floyd busier and lands more jabs. Floyd’s round, 10-9.

Round Two: Floyd looks like a weight class above in size. JMM goes down from a left hook, just seconds after Richie predicts it. Floyd lands another hard right hand. JMM, hanging tough. He survives the round. Floyd, 10-8. Total: 20-17.

Round Three: JMM still aggressive. But he hasn’t solved Floyd yet. Still, I have to give that round to JMM simply because Floyd did nothing. JMM, 10-9. Total: 29-27 (FM)

Round Four: JMM looks determined, not discouraged, as Lamply says. Good right hand by JMM. Floyd wins the round just on his jab, but Marquez is warming to the battle. Floyd, 10-9, Total: 39-36 (FM).

Round Five: Floyd wins a jab fest. Fairly dull round. Floyd, 10-9. Total. 49-45 (FM).

Round Six: This looks like a fifth grader fighting a third grader. Floyd’s too big. JMM is game, but has no answers for Floyd. Floyd, 10-9. Total, 59-54 (FM). So far Roger has said m-fer the last three rounds.

Round Seven: More of the same. Floyd, 10-9. Total, 69-63 (FM).

Round Eight: Is it possible that Floyd took the round off and still won? Yes, says Richie from Levittown. I agree. And Roger drops another m-fer. Floyd, 10-9. Total, 79-72 (FM).

Round Nine: Floyd lands a couple of hard rights. You get the sense he could win the fight right now if he opens up. He hasn’t. Interesting. JMM is now in the role of counter puncher as Floyd creeps forward. Floyd, 10-9. Total, 89-81.

Round Ten. Lampley says of Floyd’s performance, “Shocking.” Really? Really, Jim? Shocking? Almost all of the free world (aside from Mexico) predicted exactly what is happening. HBO hasn’t gone back to Floyd’s corner, but we assume that Roger is still dropping m-fers. Floyd, 10-9. Total, 99-90.

Round Eleven: Completely one-side round. Floyd, 10-9. Total. 109-99.

Round Twelve. Fight over. Ho-hum. Floyd dominates a smaller man. Give Marquez credit for lasting the distance. Floyd, 10-9, Total, 119-108. If Mayweather does not fight Manny Pacquiao, let’s hope he fights Sugar Shane Mosley.

Official scores– 118-109, 120-107 and 119-108, all for Mayweather.

Floyd lands 59 percent of his punches to JMM’s 12 percent. To us, this is not indicative of skill, but Floyd’s immense size and speed advantage.

Floyd, on TV, just says that he can better and that JMM is “tough as nails.”

There is actually a skirmish now between Floyd and Sugar Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins. Looks like more action right now than in the fight. Max Kellerman tries to regain control of an interview that has run amok. Floyd says to him, Let me do the talking, you talk too much. Max kicks it back to Lampley. Nice move, Max.
