Keanu Reeves To Play Spike Spiegel In ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Movie
Last month, MTV caught up with Keanu Reeves about his dream project — a live-action remake of the anime classic, “Cowboy Bebop.” Reeves confirmed that he and Fox were “trying to do that” and that a writer was attached. Now, The Hollywood Reporter is confirming that Reeves is set to play Spike Spiegel, and that Peter Craig is writing the script. No director has been named.
The sound you might hear now is the howl of a thousand “Cowboy Bebop” fans, who have long been against Reeves’ casting and of an American remake in general. I’m not even sure that the news that the original Bebop writing and production team of Kenji Uchida, Shinichiro Watanabe, Keiko Nobumoto, and Masahiko Minami are coming onboard as producers and production consultants will help soften the blow.
I am hoping the don’t destroy my favorite anime! I remember back when I was like 16, staying up till morning just watching episode after episode. There were only 26 but this and Trigun are my favorite of all time.

The “Boys” movies feature Smith and Lawrence as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, caught up in cases involving car chases and explosions. The first “Boys,” released in 1995, helped launch Bay as a director and Smith as an action star even though it was not a fire-stamped blockbuster — it grossed $66 million domestically and $141 million worldwide. The sequel, released in 2003 when Bay and Smith’s stars had risen, grossed $138 million domestically and $273 million worldwide.

Taking the lyrics from the 2008 “I Kissed a Girl” by singer Katy Perry, actress Megan Fox was quoted to say, by the UK Daily Record, “”I feel much safer with girls, so I felt more comfortable kissing Amanda in the movie than kissing anyone else.”
Ms. Fox, who was voted by FHM readers in 2008 as the “Sexiest Woman in the World, reveled that she enjoyed kissing her co-star, Amanda Seyfried, in the movie Jennifer’s Body. Could this revelation be a shameless plug for her new movie set to be released on September 18?
